Hello world!

Whew! I finally stopped playing with all of the gadgets long enough to actually write something someone could read! Hello friend, and welcome to my blog. I've been aching all winter long to get out in the dirt and start prep work for the garden. Call it an illness, an affliction, whatever you like--I just know that all I can think about is getting my hands dirty and lovingly nestling my garden seeds into the fresh-tilled soil. Poor lil things, they've been waiting for me!
My beloved, Matt, brought home what I shall nickname "the Beast" today. It is a monster of a tiller, big enough to break open the hard clay soil that has been host to a nice population of weeds. (Haha! I won't miss you guys a bit!)
This week's list has the following chores on it:
  • Till the ground
  • Get truckload of compost and break back unloading it with shovel
  • Drive to drug store and pick up epsom salts for bath soak
  • Till compost into soil
  • Pick up 2 bales of straw for insulation and mulch
  • Plant seeds and apply mulch, pick straw out of clothes and hair
I'll be back this weekend to let you know how things progressed.
